Common questions
Do I need internet to use Aberon?
No. Aberon is fully self-hosted and works in air-gapped environments. Zero outbound connections. License verification is offline (cryptographic signature, no phone-home).
Do I need a license key for the Free tier?
No. Free tier works out of the box — no license key, no time limit. Download, deploy, start using.
What is the 30-day Team trial?
You request a trial at /trial with your work email and company name. We email a signed license.key with Team limits for 30 days. No credit card. When it expires, you automatically revert to Free tier limits — data is kept.
What happens when a paid license expires?
Nothing breaks. Your data stays. You revert to Free tier limits (3 agents, 5 users, 500 traces/day). Renew anytime for a new yearly license key.
How does licensing work?
You receive a cryptographically signed license.key file. Place it next to docker-compose.yml and restart. Verification is entirely offline — no license server call from your deployment.
Why yearly billing only for Team?
Team is sold as a yearly license file (~370 days), not a monthly license renewal. One payment per year via Stripe; renew when you need another key.
What frameworks do we support?
Any Python-based agent. The SDK wraps your existing code with a few lines. Works with LangChain, AutoGen, LlamaIndex, or custom agents.
Can Aberon run in an air-gapped environment?
Yes. Zero outbound connections. Designed for regulated industries and private networks.
How is the audit trail tamper-evident?
Every entry includes a SHA-256 hash of itself plus the previous entry's hash. Modifying any record breaks the chain. Verification takes seconds with the one-click Verify Integrity button.
What payment methods are accepted?
Major credit cards via Stripe for Team. Enterprise may use wire and custom invoicing.
